Rebuilding God’s Altar

|

One of the thing every Christian must think when they hear a word from the Lord is not to look out but do an introspection and change what needs to change so that we can bear fruit.

As Christians God wants us to continue being Christians and to continue being effective inspite of the pandemic. We must continue fulfilling our ministry, walking as God has demanded us to walk, teaching and discipling people, helping the poor, bringing back the lost sheep into the fold, praying for the sick and many other things the scripture demands from us.

We cannot do without being, it is more important to be what God wants us to be before we can do what He expects us to do

If you are called of God you must do everything God has called you in the Kingdom.

Being a disciple precedes making disciples for the Kingdom. Jesus said come and I will make you fishers of men

God wants me to continue being a Christian and not doing so that I can continue doing what He wants me to do.

Many Christians are struggling because of the power of fellowship which has been taken away from us God expects us to continue “being” who He has called us holy and shining His light in dark times like these. That is our being, the essence of our lives. We should continue to repent of the dead works in our lives, that is God’s desire. We should put on the armor, and be able to stand even in the evil day. Ephesians.6:11-19, my mind should continue to focus on Him, sanctifying Christ in our hearts, the expectations of God before during and after the pandemic remain the same because God is the same yesterday, today and forever.

If there is any struggle in our lives regarding God’s expectation it could be that our Altar of God in our hearts could have been destroyed and needs to be rebuilt.  1Kings.18:19-39 NIV

If you cannot be what God wants you to be then there are areas of your life that need adjustments by the Spirit of God.

You need a drastic change which only the Lord can bring about. I must face the state of my heart like Elijah faced the condition of his time with passion, urgency and determination. one man against 400 prophets of Baal.

  • You need courage and confront those circumstances that have taken hold of your life.
  • Elijah was passionate and jealous for God, in so doing he faced the reality with a passion and a zeal for God
  • Elijah humbly acknowledged that it was God who helped him to do what he was doing When we trust that the Lord is the one who works in us, this fact will cause people to acknowledge and bow to the Lord. The results for the change that will come in our lives are for the glory of God.
  • Elijah trusted God in a very risky situation.

Proverbs 3:5-6 New International Version 5Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.[a]

As we look at our hearts and think through how God should adjust our lives, we need to go to the altar and adjust what has been broken so that God will restore and rebuild our altar. it is hard work and God is calling us to do the hard work but His Spirit is there to help us.

When we do this the peace of God will come back to our lives, and we will feel rejuvenated and feel the intimacy of Christ once again, our prayer life will be spurred again and we will tell our enemies, like Micah said, Micah 7:8-9  New International Version  Do not gloat over me, my enemy! Though I have fallen, I will rise. Though I sit in darkness, the Lord will be my light. Because I have sinned against him, I will bear the Lord’s wrath, until he pleads my case and upholds my cause. He will bring me out into the light; I will see his righteousness.
