Point to the Right Direction

He looked polished and anointed yet sly and deceptive! He told a Pastor friend of mine, ” I cannot allow you on my pulpit! “Why?” My friend quipped in. How many suits do you have and how expensive are they?” “Where did you purchase them from?” “What kind of car do you drive?” And etc.!

“If you fulfill these conditions, then you must promise to testify in the sermon about what you have and where you bought them from!”

Brothers and sisters, would Jesus Christ qualify to preach to His people at this pulpit?

“We don’t go around preaching about ourselves, we preach Christ Jesus the Lord. All we say about ourselves is that we are servants because of what Jesus has done for us ” 2Cor 4:5.

Point God’s people to Jesus. For he says…”when I am lifted up from the earth, I will draw all men to myself.” John. 12.32

Let our preaching cause sinners to buzz around Jesus (Luke. 15:1).

When we preach about ourselves, they will buzz around us because we shall say what their itching ears want to hear and what shall we do for them? What competence do we have in ourselves to lead them a right?  How shall we account for each lost opportunity? How shall we account for each misguided soul?

Preach the Word! Who is the Word? Jesus!!

Up to today, we don’t even know the name of the donkey that carried Jesus! May Jesus be known, not us! May Jesus be the center of our work in Him.

As it is written, may we be “bountiful in fruits from the soul, making Jesus Christ attractive to all!” Phil.1.11

Do not even seek credit and appreciation from men and committees. Seek the praise of God. Our Master put it bluntly.” So, you also, when you have done everything you were told to do, should say, ‘We are unworthy servants; we have only done our duty.'” Luke.17:10

Yes, those were his words! “Unworthy!”

“Not to us, O LORD, not to us but to your name be the glory, because of your love and faithfulness. Ps.115:1
