My Prayer

There is something mind boggling about those who mature in Christ. When we abide in him, we die but Christ manifests himself in us. (Gal 2:20)

This is my prayer.

Lord help us be like Joseph who after enduring disgrace and torment caused by his own brothers, chose not to revenge when he had advantage, let kindness outshine the pain we endure in the hands of those we thought we loved.

And like David, help us to restrain ourselves even in the extreme of circumstances. David deeply respected his wayward king and spared his life twice, (1Sam 24 & 26). Lord, let compassion find its place where the best natural response would be to revenge and show them their place!

And like you Lord Jesus. You were innocent but You were treated like a criminal and shamed by the very people You came to save, “Father, forgive them, for they don’t know what they are doing.” (Lk 23:34)
