Jesus? Stop! Danger!
As he narrated to our outreach team, he cried. ” I don’t allow born again Christians to even step in my compound!” The Pastor of this church [in the neighborhood] took my wife!”
Now he uses clutches. His leg was amputated. He told our outreach team how he sold his piece of land to treat his sick wife. ” They lied to me …” he narrated in tears. ” They lied that she had illnesses in the stomach yet she was pregnant with the Pastors child! ”
The ‘born again’ woman abandoned him and went to live with the Pastor. She delivered a baby. Later she was hit by a stroke and died.
Up to today, the old man still misses and mourns the loss of his wife.
He was like a person saying, “I don’t like your Jesus! You took my wife!”
Our behavior affects the entire testimony of Christ. So, in a way, the eternal destination of some souls depends on my constant self-examination. Many eyes are on us. Many eyes see our rise. Many eyes will see our fall. We rise with Christ. We fall with his name – at our cost!
We leaders must have “a good reputation with outsiders, so that [we] will not fall into disgrace and into the devil’s trap.” 1Timothy 3:7
Lastly, 1Corinthians.10.12 – So, if you think you are standing firm, be careful that you don’t fall!
